3D Stamping

*some products provided for review*

Howdy you guys…

Thank you all for following my blog! It’s been a long time and for that I’m sorry.  Between my job, my house, and Wicked Polish, I’ve let things slip.

I wanted to come back tonight to show you this fun stamp I did using Born Pretty Store’s stamp W-03, Pueen 15, a wedge makeup sponge (also from Born Pretty Store),  Zoya Ali and China Glaze Sunday Funday.

How fun is that, right? Looks like 3D!! Mr. WickedNails was like, WHAAA????

The secret to stamping is in the stamper. Mine I bought from MoYou London and I adore it. They have 3 and I own them all. The double ended one is my fave!

China Glaze Sunsational Jellies

Hi lovely people!

Well, the second half of this summer’s China Glaze collection consists of a few goodies and a few worthless, under-pigmented bottles of blah. I hate to be harsh, but this is where I give you my honest review so you don’t waste money!

First off, Shell-O. This jelly is shown with three coats plus topcoat with slightly visible nail line (VNL).  I love the color, hate the nail line.  One more coat and this might have been opaque.

This beauty is Heat Index, a lovely pink that leans a bit more orange toned. This would look great with glitter in a jelly sammich!  Three coats plus topcoat.

I LOVE this color!  This is You Drive Me Coconuts, the only jelly that built up easily to opacity in about two thick coats.  Shown is three for good measure with topcoat.  Love this blue leaning pink, perfect for summer!

Let’s get into the two colors I absolutely hated, shall we?  First is Keepin’ It Teal.  My first coat made my nails look a slightly dead teal, but this is four coats and I really didn’t feel like putting any more on.  I added topcoat for shine. I hate VNL.

This one is even worse. This is Isle See You Later. Please, folks, buy a latte or two and skip this color.  It is nothing special, and shown is FIVE FREAKING COATS.  I couldn’t even see the first coat.  Take a closer look at the bottle, where the bubble is…you can tell a lot about a polish from the contrast around the air bubble (pro tip from Rylee, that’ll be $3 please!)

1AreYouJellyFinally we have a lovely bright red toned purple called Are You Jelly?  This is three coats plus topcoat, and again notice we found some level of opacity!  Score!

The entire 12 polish Sunsational collection hasn’t officially been released yet in stores like Sally, but you can get them on transdesign dot com and other thrifty nail supply joints.  In summation, I recommend all 6 cremes for sure, the colors are gorgeous and nicely pigmented, even if the formula is sketchy.  Honestly, I would skip the jellies completely or just get You Drive Me Coconuts and Are You Jelly, because the others weren’t anything special to me (some may just be colored water in a bottle!).

Check back soon, because I went crazy and have all 12 Dance Legend holos for you to check out!

China Glaze Sunsational Cremes

Hi all!

Sorry for the hiatus. Anyway, I’m back with swatches from the China Glaze Sunsational collection from summer 2013! I swatched the six cremes below – super bright colors with terrible formulas!  Worth buying if you love great bright colors for summer…

Bottoms Up is a gorgeous bright Barbie pink if ever there was one.  Because it has blue undertones I love it on me – makes me look a little more tan.  This is three coats plus topcoat.

Love this one – Highlight Of My Summer is brighter on the nail than in the bottle, as are all of these colors, really.  I adore this color, again probably for making me look tan!  Three very streaky coats plus topcoat.

Neon & On & On is a color that looks orange-y pink-y peach both in the bottle and on the nails – can’t quite nail down a color but it is BRIGHT.  It looks brighter on than in the bottle, again, and this is three coats plus topcoat.

Sun Of A Peach.  This was probably in my top picks from this whole collection, including the jellies – it just really stands out on the nail.  It is bright without being a straight orange, as it looks really creamy on the nail.  This is three coats with topcoat.

That’s Shore Bright, a lovely purple with the best formula of them all. This is two easy coats with topcoat.  This may look like a purple you already own, but for me it looked brighter on the nail, and I couldn’t quite adjust the color to capture exactly what it looks like.  This is close though!

ChGTooYachtToHandleFinally Too Yacht To Handle, a fabulous eye searing teal with HORRIBLE formula.  This is four coats to even out the bald patches plus topcoat.  I don’t mind bad formulas when the color is worth the time, and for me, this color is worth the time.  I love that it belongs in that Tiffany blue family but is brighter and bolder, and a bit more yellow toned.

Happy Father’s Day!

Lynnderella: Ghost of a Chance

Good evening!

Tonight I have a lovely Lynnderella polish to show you – Ghost of a Chance!

Ghost of a Chance1In love. I wanted to show it to you over white, as I initially pictured it. It shows off the lovely contrasting shapes and sizes of pastel and white glitter.  It is so delicate and pretty!

Ghost of a ChanceAnd then I had to try it over another color.  This is China Glaze No Way Jose, another hard to find polish I found while “dusty hunting.”  I have already used it three times since I got it, which is a new record for me!  This is two coats of Ghost on top. Love it!

Pure Ice My City Contest

So, I entered a nail art contest on Instagram sponsored by Pure Ice, a nail polish available at Walmart.  The prize was…get ready…the entire Pure Ice collection of 100 polishes!  10 ladies won, and I was one of the winners with my Napa inspired nail art!

Napa Nails2I was driving home admiring the sunset and realized exactly what I love about home – it is so beautiful here in the valley!

Napa NailsI’m seriously not much of an artist – these nails took about 2 hours to complete.

VinoI used a striping brush and Milani glitter for this.  The background color is Essie Lilacism.

SunsetI sponged Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream onto white to create sky and clouds, then added Sally Hansen Lightening, Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream, and Orly Melt Your Popsicle.  I used acrylic paint for the mountains and a Milani glitter for the grape bunches.

GrapeI used China Glaze Creative Fantasy for the grapes and acrylic paint for the stems an accents.

BalloonAhem. This was originally going to be a different image over a sponged gradient, but I suddenly realized one of my favorite things is that no matter where you are, on a clear morning you can see hot air balloons drifting over the hills, houses, and even my office.  The balloon (and everything really) looks better from a bit farther away 🙂

I hope you enjoyed!  I will be sure to share a picture of the 100 bottles of polish when they arrive!
